"All our Presidents and Foreign Ministers past and present have worked for a solution. We have some world records. For example the world's largest flag is in the TRNC. But we have other records too such the UN's longest serving mission is in Cyprus" said Çerkez, adding that the time had come for the TRNC to take its place amongst the countries of the world and within international law.
Foreign Minister Özdil Nami for his part said that the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce was important for the country's economy and future vision.
Nami said that his Ministry saw the negotiations process as an effort carried out jointly by all segments of society.
"The leaders should start negotiating. The economic problems are evident. The fastest way out of this economic crisis is by solving the Cyprus Problem. Actually when you think about the benefits, advantages and opportunities a settlement will bring, not accepting it is unacceptable. It is every politician's obligation to take us to a comprehensive solution. Of course there are problems and sensitivities but the process must start" he said.
The TRNC foreign minister also said that the TRNC representation offices in the Gulf countries were effective in expanding the country's trade activities abroad.
