Speaker of the Parliament Hasan Bozer delivered a speech during the initial meeting of the General Assembly and submitted the activity report of the last period to the General Assembly. The leaders of the political parties represented at the Parliament, who also delivered speech, pointed out the problems of the country.
Speaking at the initial meeting the Speaker of the Parliament Hasan Bozer said petrol exploration facilities of the Greek Cypriot side had seriously damaged the efforts aimed at the settlement of the Cyprus issue.
Bozer criticized the Greek Cypriot side of its stance regarding the Cyprus issue and of starting petrol and natural gas drilling activities.
During his speech he also briefed the parliamentarians on the work performed during the last legislative period. He pointed out during his speech that The Republican Assembly passed many important laws in the framework of the EU Harmonization Laws.
Prime Minister Irsen Kucuk said cooperation and solidarity among the political parties should be a must at the Parliament and stressed they would try to put into practice this during the next period.
He also underlined the importance of the collaboration of the government and the opposition on the national issues and pointed out that the Parliament was the place where the heart of the state beats.
Prime Minister Kucuk noted that the internal regulations could be handled in that period too if a consensus was reached. He also said the resolutions that would sublimate the state would be passed and stressed that though acts would be faced during that period too.
Kucuk underlined that they would work for creating a more contemporary and stable country for the next generations.
