Connected with this agreement reached in Ankara between Turkish and Turkish Cypriot officials a Turkish delegation headed by the Deputy Undersecretary of the Energy Ministry will visit TRNC for some contacts and technical studies today.
The delegation will include officials from the General Directorate of Petroleum Affairs, the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and the Foreign Ministry.
These steps of Turkish and Turkish Cypriot side are said to be the first elements of a comprehensive plan that will be shaped according to Greek Cypriot act. The action plan will be activated whenever needed.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of TRNC assessed that agreement as the decisiveness on the protection of Turkish Cypriot's equal rights on and around the island.
Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Responsible for Cyprus Beshir Atalay, holding contacts in Cyprus for some days said on the other hand that Turkey would continue acting with common sense on the issue of Greek Cypriot struggle for exploring petrol and natural gas in Eastern Mediterranean and would not serve for the ones who hope to benefit from crisis and conflicts.
Underlining that unilateral acts of Greek Cypriot side damages the spirit of Cyprus negotiations, the contact between two sides and the stability in the region; Atalay stressed the petrol exploration studies in the region should be fulfilled after a comprehensive settlement.
