The President addressed at the ceremony organized to mark the 37th anniversary of liberation of Serdarlı village during the second phase of Turkey's Peace Operation in 1974 prompted by Greek Cypriot bloody attempt to annex the island to Greece.
"We want to intensify the talks and come to a conclusion as soon as possible but the other side seems not interested" he said.
The President added, "Either we find an agreement or the way forward for Turkish Cypriots be kept clean; the burden of not having signed an agreement yet should not be put on Turkish Cypriot people's shoulders unjustifiably".
Eroglu said the Greek Cypriot side had failed to acknowledge that there were two people and two states on the island which was the only base for a new partnership adding that Turkey's guarantee was also indispensable.
He also warned that the talks would be sabotaged if Greek Cypriot administration was allowed to become EU Term President.
President Dervish Eroglu reminding that the EU had made a great mistake by making Greek Cypriot side the member of EU "in the name of the whole island" he said, "If the EU adds another mistake to its past mistake it would inflict another damage which would be difficult to correct and sabotage the peace process".
