During the meeting at the presidential palace President Dervis Eroglu said TRNC had been paying significant importance to higher education and underlined the importance of close relation with Islamic countries.
He pointed that Turkish Cypriot state representatives had been attending OIC meetings, making statements , participating in debates and having effect on resolutions which usually came out on the side of Turkish Cypriots.
He also praised Ihsanoglu's efforts to improve relations between OIC and TRNC and said that he wanted to see the relations develop further.
Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said OIC had always been on Turkish Cypriots' side but the support had become fore concrete in recent years.
He said OIC knew very well the rightful case of Turkish Cypriots and that it was trying it's upmost to eradicate current embargoes and blockade.
Ihsanoglu expressed his belief that Turkish Cypriot side was doing all it can to reach a solution on the Cyprus Problem and wished that a solution is reached by January 2012.
Referring to the higher education form that is taking place today attended by representatives from over 20 countries including ministers Ihsanoglu said that the aim was to show the potential of TRNC to the Islamic countries.
Ihsanoglu also stressed the importance of the higher education, tourism and agriculture in overcoming embargoes adding that the development of three sectors compiled with political contribution of the president would deem the embargoes meaningless.
He also believes that democratization process in the Arab world would have a positive effect on TRNC.
