Nicosia, 5 March 12 (T.A.K): President Dervis Eroglu's Special Representative Kudret Ozersay, said that, restoration of the Apostolos Andreas Monastery should not be politicized.
After visiting monastery with the bi-communal Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage, Ozersay said that the first step for the restoration of Apostolos Andreas Monastery was taken.
Speaking to the press, Ozersay also called the international actors like EU to support and cooperate on the financial aspect of the restoration.
After technical inspections at the site of the monastery, The Greek Cypriot member of the committee Takis Hacidimitru said that, they took very important step towards the solution of the problem. He also stressed that restoration should start as soon as possible.
The Turkish Greek Cypriot member of the committee, General Director of the Vakiflar Administration Mustafa Kemal Kaymakamzade said that, TRNC Supreme Monuments Council had approved restoration plans of Monastery, which were prepared by Greek academicians.
