Peace and Freedom day marks the anniversary of Turkey's military intervention on 20 July 1974 which brought freedom to the Turkish Cypriots after decades of inter communal conflicts.
The celebrations will start with 21-gun salute at Thursday noon followed by President Dervis Eroglu's televised address to the nation.
Besir Atalay, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, will be among the dignitaries attending the celebrations and the events set to pay tribute to the martyrs.
First of commemoration events will take place at Anıttepe, where the leader of Turkish Cypriot struggle Dr. Fazıl Kucuk is resting, followed by the event at the grave of Rauf Raif Denktas the founder of the Republic.
Tributes will be paid to the martyrs across the country, the main one on to take place at Bogaz Martyrdom on Thursday evening.
The main event will take place at Nicosia, Dr. Fazıl Kucuk Boulevard where parades will take place including of veterans, on Friday. At the main event, flags carried from coast where the first troops landed in July 1974 will be presented to the President.
Sport tournaments, yacht rallies will also take place. A watch will be held till the morning of 20th July at the coast in Kyrenia where the troops landed in 1974, with concerts.
